º£½ÇÂÛ̳’s Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence (CAFE) Teaching and Learning includes course-level support for online, hybrid, and HyFlex instruction. This includes instructional design consultations, quality course reviews (QCR), and accessibility guidance. Services such as instructional design for Canvas, accessibility planning, and teaching strategy consultations—are available through CAFE.
Supporting Accessible and Inclusive Learning (SAIL) is a CAFE initiative that helps º£½ÇÂÛ̳ faculty design course materials that are inclusive, effective, and compliant with federal ADA Title II requirements. Through SAIL, faculty can participate in a self-paced online course or an in-person workshop focused on building accessible teaching habits using their own syllabi, slides, and Canvas content. For those looking to go further, SAIL also offers two advanced self-paced modules—Transparency in Learning and Teaching (TiLT) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL)—that provide practical strategies to improve clarity, flexibility, and student engagement. SAIL supports º£½ÇÂÛ̳’s commitment to accessible instruction and helps faculty design with everyone in mind.

In 2023, a faculty learning community focused on examining evidence-based teaching practices that improve student motivation and learning. They investigated a variety of techniques from the framework of the Expectancy-Value theory. The FLC created summary resources that faculty can use and that also support the peer observation program.
