Congratulations to members of the school’s Department of Oral and Craniofacial Sciences who are 2025 International Association of Dental Research (IADR) Award Recipients and Participants. The meeting was held recently in Barcelona, Spain. Dr. Erin Bumann, Associate Professor (mentor) and Claire Houchen, Research Assistant and PhD Student, (mentee), received the Dianne Rekow Mentoring award.
Dr. Bumann and Claire also presented posters, titled “Wnt5a gain- or loss-of-function recapitulates heterogeneity of Rainbow Syndrome phenotypes” and “Interspecies Beak Length Transcriptomics Supports Five Human Malocclusion-Associated Genes” respectively.
Dr. Bumann was also honored with the IADR Pediatric Oral Health Research group AAPD Research Award. Dr. Yong Wang, Curator’s Professor, received the IADR Innovation in Oral Care award.
Saleha Nisar, PhD Graduate, (from Dr. Wang’s Lab) presented a poster as well, titled “Crosslinker Modified Etchants Improve the Durability of Resin Dentin bonds in Sound and Caries Affected Teeth”.
