The Summer Cookout hosted by Dean Paul Luepke over the noon hour, Monday, August 18th, allowed faculty and staff to celebrate the end of the semester and enjoy some well-deserved time together.  A long-standing school tradition, the event had been on hiatus several years, but everyone was thrilled that Dean Luepke brought it back.

It was scheduled as a patio and lawn event, but the heat moved the event inside and the fun and fellowship followed.  The school provided the cookout favorites of hamburgers and hot dogs, a vegetarian option, and drinks.

Faculty and staff pitched in with sides and chips. And everyone thoroughly enjoyed the visit from the Kona Ice Truck. Some more than once!

Thanks to all who helped put the event together on short notice, it went off without a hitch, even with the last-minute change in location.  Vicki Van Noy and Jeff Primos from the school’s Business Office made sure all the supplies needed were handy. Richie Bigham from the Office Student Programs and School Security Officer David Lucas handled setup, and Sharlyn Mills and Erica Williams arranged an amazing array of door prizes.

Dean Luepke and Jeff Primos took care of the grilling, while Roy Potter from BMC kept the music going. We’re also grateful to Mark Keogh and our partners at Henry Schein for sponsoring the Kona Ice Truck. Thank you as well to Jim Thomas, freelance photographer, for capturing the day. Finally, thanks to everyone who stayed after helping to clean up, especially to Maria and Daniel Gonzalez.  And to our gracious host behind the scenes, Alec Zier from the Dean’s Office, making sure everyone had a remarkable time.

It was great to see so many folks enjoying time together, catching up over lunch, enjoying the great prizes and even taking time playing bags in the hallway.
