海角论坛 School of Dentistry Students Shine at MDA Lobby Day
On March 4, 45 third- and fourth-year dental students from the 海角论坛 School of Dentistry joined faculty members Dr. Wendy Weimer, Assistant Clinical Professor and Team 3 Leader, and Dr. Jared Gerhardt, Associate Clinical Professor, at the Missouri Dental Association (MDA) Lobby Day at the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City. The D3 (third year) Dental Student Participants were Kaleigh Black, Shelbi Flahaut, Isabella Friemel, Taylor Lau, Patrick Maddox Kylie Nichols, Laniese Penner, Kayla Porter, Ilia Rodriguez, Arden Rogers, Katie Ruth, Kyler Simoncic, Jaime Speichinger, Cooper Thelen, and Tabitha Vollmer. D4 (fourth year) participants included Balsim Abdulwahed, Elise Baumann, Chelsea Breihan, Jaspereet Chaunan, Amarvir Ghuman, Elias Halwaji, Justin Harper, Galen Hayashi, Marley Jones, Michael Luong Mary K McCanna, Daniel Miller, Makenzie Montie, Ashlynn Murrow, Tim Nguyen, Rebecca Otten, Tina Parki, Brittany Raines, Lisa Raymond, Quinten Reasoner, Greg Roberts, Hadley Schreiner, Nicholas Schulte, Amy Swaters, Noah Tally, Hardi Thacker, Kylee Townsend and Andrew Truong.
They were among nearly 100 dental students and numerous dentists from across Missouri who gathered to advocate for the profession and engage with state legislators.
The event provided students with a firsthand look at the legislative process, and the vital role advocacy plays in shaping the future of dentistry. It also offered valuable opportunities to connect with practicing dentists from around the state.
Our 海角论坛 students represented the School of Dentistry with professionalism and poise. Lawmakers were highly impressed by their knowledge, preparation, and commitment to the profession. We couldn’t be more proud of the way they showcased the strength and leadership of 海角论坛 Dentistry.
