FLAG-ACTION REQUIRED (Medium Concern)

Raise an ACTION REQUIRED flag when a student does not complete the requested action associated with an Instructor Feedback flag. This flag brings the student’s Success Coach and/or Academic Advisor into the conversation. Include detailed comments outlining the specific action required, any associated deadlines, and additional information that will help the Success Coach or Academic Advisor support the student effectively.

Course Instructors should make at least 2 (two) attempts to connect with a student through the Instructor Feedback flag prior to elevating to this level.

Recommended Timing: Week 3-4,7-8,11-12. Timing should coincide with activities, discussions, assignments, and assessment for each course.

Notification

  • Comments are included in notification
  • Appears in Student Dashboard
  • Student receives email notification
  • Success Coach and Academic Advisor receive email notification
  • Additional notifications may be received by other support staff connected to the student such as ISAO, Athletic Coordinator, Block or KC Scholar Coach.

Response Plan

  • ACTION REQUIRED flags elevate Instructor Feedback concerns to the Success Coach and/or Academic Advisor to provide additional assistance.  
  • Success Coach is the primary responder; regularly monitors email and 海角论坛 Connect for tracking items.  Success Coaches can assign the flag to the student’s Academic Advisor as needed.  Academic Advisor monitors tracking items and may support Success Coach response.
  • Success Coach and/or Academic Advisor is expected to follow up with the student within 3-5 business days to discuss the issue and decide how to proceed.  Next steps may include referrals to other support services as needed. 
  • Success Coach and/or Academic Advisor will provide comments in the flag to note their attempts to contact the student and any resulting action.
  • Closed by Success Coach or Academic Advisor when the issue is resolved.  In the event a student fails to respond to three attempted contacts the flag may be closed due to lack of activity after 14 business days.

  • ACTION REQUIRED: due to Attendance Concern
  • ACTION REQUIRED: due to Concern of Failing Course
  • ACTION REQUIRED: due to poor Class Participation
  • ACTION REQUIRED: Success Coach and Assigned Academic Advisor Assistance Requested
