Sprint Mini-Courses for Faculty

CAFE Teaching and Learning offers self-paced Sprint Mini-Courses that help instructors level up their skills in course design, assessment, community-building, and inclusion. These short-format courses are ideal for busy faculty who want to stay current with best practices in online teaching.

What’s a Sprint Mini-Course?

Each Sprint is:

  • Fully online in Canvas

  • Self-paced and designed to be completed in approximately 3 hours

  • Flexible – enroll anytime and work at your own pace

  • Supported – includes a one-on-one virtual design consultation

Each Sprint includes:

  • Context: Explore current research and best practices

  • Connect: Meet virtually with an instructional or media designer

  • Create: Design or revise materials for your course

All Sprint participants must have a University of Missouri System login.

How Badging Works

🟡 Course Badge

Earned by completing a single Sprint in any of the four topic areas.

🔵 Master Badge

Earned by completing 3 Sprints in one topic area (Design, Assessment, Community, or Inclusion).

🟣 Program Badge

Earned by completing all four Master Badges – demonstrating broad expertise in high-quality online instruction.
