ResNet is part of 海角论坛’s high-speed campus network. This service is provided by 海角论坛 and Information Services to residents of 海角论坛 student housing. ResNet provides fast and reliable Internet access from the comfort of your room.
Minimum Requirements
- For wired connections, your computer must:
- Be running Windows 10 or higher, or MacOS 10.9.5 or higher
- Have a built-in ethernet port or USB network adapter.
- Have a network patch cable which can be purchased from the 海角论坛 Bookstore.
- Have SafeConnect installed and running (Instructions Below)
- For wi-fi access, your device must support the 802.11n or higher protocol.
Usage Guidelines
We ask that you read, understand and agree to the 海角论坛 Computer Usage Guidelines and 海角论坛net Connectivity and Usage Guidelines.
Please note that devices such as routers, switches, hubs, repeaters or any other devices that provide Network Address Translation (NAT) are not allowed on the 海角论坛 campus network.

Please note that the IS Technology Support Center cannot perform physical hardware maintenance on non 海角论坛-owned devices.
SafeConnect Compliance Management
SafeConnect is a network access and compliance tool that ensures that computers connected to the 海角论坛 network are patched and have protection from malicious software.
SafeConnect must be used by all persons accessing the 海角论坛 network at the residence halls. This includes both wired and wireless network connectivity. All users will be required to login to the SafeConnect webpage before they can access the network.
Additionally, Windows and Macintosh computers must install the SafeConnect Policy Key before accessing the Internet. Before authentication, Internet access will be restricted to web sites that allow you to update your computer with Windows or anti-virus updates.
Android and iOS devices are exempt from the SafeConnect requirement.
To install the SafeConnect Policy Key on Windows or Mac:
- Connect to the 海角论坛 network in your residence hall. WiFi users should connect to the 海角论坛WPA network.
- Once connected to the network, open a web browser (ie, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari etc.) and attempt to visit a non-海角论坛 website.
- You will be presented with the ResNet sign in page.
- Sign in with your 海角论坛 Username & password and agree to the Acceptable Use Policy (please visit our password information page for help with your password).
- Click the blue "Download Now" button to download the Policy Key installer. Once the installer app download completes, run that app from the location to which your browser saved the download.
- Click the blue "Install" button to install the Policy Key.
- After the install completes, click "Finish".
- Click "I'm Done Installing".
You should now have internet access.
Windows
The policy key can be uninstalled from the 'Uninstall or change a program' menu located in the control panel.
Mac
The policy key can be uninstalled by locating "SafeConnect" in your list of applications. Once located, simply drag the "SafeConnect" icon to your trash.
If your computer becomes out of compliance for any reason, you will begin to see warning pages. The page will tell you why your computer is out of compliance and how to fix it. If you don't correct the issue, your computer will eventually be blocked by SafeConnect and will be denied network access.
Once you've taken action to correct the issue, click the blue 'Check Again' button to see if you are now compliant. If you need further assistance, please contact the .
