Policy Statement

Academic integrity speaks to the reputation of the University of Missouri-Kansas City (º£½ÇÂÛ̳). Ensuring academic integrity in an online environment (for instruction, course participation or individual examinations/assessments) is just as important as ensuring academic integrity in a campus environment. Taking measures to protect this integrity is in the best interests of º£½ÇÂÛ̳ and its students, alumni, and faculty.

Faculty are required to notify students of online proctoring associated with all course activities, as well as any associated costs, in the course syllabus. All online proctoring must be done using university approved platforms.

Alternative arrangements: The preferred location of academic activities requiring online proctoring is the discretion of the student. It is the student’s responsibility to identify and if necessary secure an appropriate space to take online examinations within the parameters outlines in the course syllabus.

Reason for Policy

This policy was developed to support student academic success in courses offered online and to provide consistent, quality delivery of academic programs and services.
