海角论坛 Staff Council provides advocacy and outreach for staff, represents staff interests to 海角论坛 and UM System and creates opportunities for staff recognition and professional development.
General Body Meetings
Staff Council General Body meetings take place the first Wednesday of each month (unless otherwise specified) from 8:30 to 10 a.m. All 海角论坛 staff are welcome to join us at meetings. Meetings are generally held in-person and via Zoom. All Staff Council voting members and Executive Board members are required to attend General Body meetings.
Staff Council Voting Members
While all 海角论坛 staff members are welcome to attend and participate in Staff Council meetings and events, only Staff Council voting members are permitted to vote on decisions brought to the council. Voting members are selected through a nomination and election process coordinated by the Staff Council Membership Committee. Any 海角论坛 staff member can nominate themselves or others for voting membership consideration. Voting membership is limited to 50. Staff Council strives to select representatives from across campus units.
Make a Difference with Committees
Staff Council subcommittees meet separately from the larger group, with focus on one of the following areas: communications, endowment and scholarship, engagement, membership, outreach and professional development.
Join the Staff Council Community
Committee meetings are a great way to connect with fellow staff and get more involved with 海角论坛. Voting members must serve on at least one Staff Council committee. All staff are welcome to attend and participate in committee meetings.
