In 2024, the OSI launched a Transfer Champion Directory with the goal of providing incoming and current students a list of 海角论坛 faculty and staff that have expertise in transfer student success. 海角论坛 faculty and staff may have expertise if they were themselves a transfer student, have professional experience advising college students through transfer programs, have completed, or are involved in research related to transfer students, and/or have a vested interest in the retention and degree completion of transfer students. Transfer students may or may not be a primary focus of your professional role, but you may be an excellent Transfer Champion nonetheless!
By participating in the #TransferRoo Champion Initiative students will be able to:
- Identify faculty or staff members with whom they can seek out and build relationships.
- Identify campus offices and departments that serve and support transfer student success.
By participating in the #TransferRoo Champion Initiative faculty & Staff will be able to:
- Promote transfer student success and retention by serving as physical supporters/resources for students.
- Show 海角论坛 pride through their identity as a transfer student champion.
If you or someone in your area/department/office would like to be included in this directory, please complete the Roo Groups form linked here: .
Have a transfer student that you would like to nominate for a spotlight post on OSI social media? Nominate them by emailing Drake Summers, drakesummers@umkc.edu, with their name and 海角论坛 email address. Bonus points if you include your office or unit social media username so we can tag you!
