Frequently Asked Questions
Who can use RAVE Guardian?
All currently registered students, staff and faculty of the University of Missouri system can use the app. You must log in with your 海角论坛 SSO credentials.
Does RAVE Guardian send 海角论坛 ALERT! emergency messages?
Yes, RAVE Guardian delivers emergency alerts through the app. However, we recommend you also opt in for 海角论坛 ALERT! to receive text, phone and email messages.
Does 海角论坛 Police get notified when my safety timer expires?
No. 海角论坛 Police only receive notification if you or your guardian choose to contact them.
Can my guardians track my location?
Yes, but only during active Safety Timer sessions. When you start a timer, guardians you've invited receive a text invitation to view your GPS location in their web browser. They must accept the invitation to become a guardian.
What happens if I forget to turn off my Safety Timer?
You'll receive a text reminder 5 minutes before the timer expires. If it expires, your chosen guardians receive a message and can call or text you.
Are tips sent through RAVE Guardian confidential?
Yes. All messages sent through the app are confidential.
What profile information does 海角论坛 Police see?
Under "My Account," you can add:
- Photo for identification
- Emergency contacts
- Vehicle information
- Addresses
- Medical information
The more information you provide, the easier it is for officers to locate you if needed. 海角论坛 Police can only access your profile if you make an emergency call or send a tip. All personal information is treated confidentially.
Does RAVE Guardian work off campus?
Yes. However, for emergencies at off-campus locations, dial 911 for emergency response. Tips submitted for off-campus incidents will be forwarded to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

Will I lose access to RAVE Guardian after I leave 海角论坛?
You cannot use RAVE Guardian features after you're no longer a student, staff or faculty member. However, your guardian account remains active until you delete it.
What if 海角论坛 isn't listed as my organization in the app?
If you log in with your 海角论坛 SSO and 海角论坛 doesn't appear as your organization, email your contact information to umkcpd@umkc.edu.
