Accessible Parking

Visitor Parking

Cost

  • Meter fees: $1.25 per hour
  • One-day hangtags: $7 each (purchase or at Parking Operations Office, 5115 Oak St., Room 221)

Metered areas are indicated in yellow on the campus maps.

Valid parking areas

  • Accessible metered spaces: Individuals must pay the hourly meter fee and display a state-issued disabled plate or placard.
  • With visitor one-day permit and state-issued disabled plate or placard: You can park in faculty/staff and student permit areas or in designated accessible spaces.

Restricted parking areas

Accessible spaces in the retail lots for the Colonial Shops are restricted for the use of patrons of these retail shops only.

Student Accessible Parking

Student permits for the 2025 to 2026 academic year will be available for purchase starting July 28.

Two ways to receive a 海角论坛 accessible permit

1. Submit a physician's statement of need

The statement must include:

  • The need for accessible parking
  • The time period the accommodation is needed

This permit allows you to park in faculty/staff and student permit areas, but not in specially designated accessible spaces.

2. Submit proof of ownership of a disabled license plate or placard

A copy of the paid receipt or proof that the state-issued plate or placard belongs to you is required. This must be registered with the Parking Operations Office.

To park in designated accessible spaces, you must display both:

  • Your 海角论坛 accessible permit
  • Your state-issued plate or placard

What it costs

Accessible permit

Single-semester all-day accessible permit (24 hours per day)

  • $135 for Fall, valid through January 19, 2026

Multi-semester all-day accessible permits (24 hours per day)

  • $270 for Fall and Spring, valid through May 31, 2026
  • $338 for Fall, Spring and Summer, valid through August 16, 2026

Hospital Hill Apartments permit

Single-semester Hospital Hill Apartments accessible permit (24 hours per day)

  • $171 for Fall, valid through January 19, 2026

Multi-semester Hospital Hill Apartments accessible permit (24 hours per day)

  • $342 for Fall and Spring, valid through May 31, 2026
  • $428 for Fall, Spring and Summer, valid through August 16, 2026

With 海角论坛 accessible permit and state-issued plate or placard

  • Accessible spaces in student permit areas
  • Accessible spaces in faculty/staff permit areas
  • Student and faculty/staff regular permit areas

With 海角论坛 accessible permit only

  • Student and faculty/staff regular permit areas

Your accessible permit is not valid in metered parking areas (AMP Park).

Accessible metered parking

How meters work

Several accessible metered parking spaces are available. You must pay the meter and display a state-issued accessible plate or placard. A 海角论坛 accessible permit is not required to park in these metered accessible spaces.

Faculty and Staff Accessible Parking

To park in designated accessible spaces in permit lots, you must display both:

  • Your valid 海角论坛 faculty/staff parking permit
  • Your state-issued accessible plate or placard

Registration required

Proof that the state-issued plate or placard belongs to you must be registered with the Parking Operations Office.
