Employee Parking Permits

Virtual parking permits

During summer 2025, 海角论坛 transitioned to virtual parking permits. This means:

  • No more hangtag permits
  • No more temporary permits to print or display
  • No more lost permits or replacement fees
  • Your license plate serves as your permit

Important: Park with your license plate facing the driving lane.

How to purchase a permit

Full-time employees: Visit or the Parking Operations Office at 5115 Oak St., Suite 221.

Part-time employees: Purchase discounted permit packs with a fixed number of one-day permits. One permit deducts each day enforcement scans your vehicle on campus. Use on any day without restriction to specific weekdays.

Payment options for full-time employees

Payroll deduction (full-time, regular employees only)

  • Select "Payroll Deduction" when ordering at
  • Complete and return the authorization form emailed to you
  • Deductions continue until you request cancellation
  • Not available for appointments shorter than one semester

Pre-pay

  • Pay by month or semester at
  • Enter accurate license plate and vehicle information

What it costs

Monthly parking fees are based on your annual base salary as of June 1 each year:

When rates are set

Once set, your rate will not change during the year.

  • New employees: based on your salary when you apply
  • Existing employees with payroll deduction: reassessed each June 1
  • Pre-paid permits: based on your salary when you order

No prorating or refunds

Parking fees are charged for the full month, regardless of when you start or stop using your permit.

Affiliate organization employees

Employees of affiliate organizations pay $53 per month (subject to change).

Where you can park

Employee permits are valid in all red permit areas on both Volker and Health Sciences campuses.

Your permit travels with you

Use your permit on any vehicle you drive, but it is not transferable to other people. You can register multiple vehicles, but only one vehicle can be parked on campus at a time.

Where you cannot park

Your employee permit is not valid in:

  • Metered lots (pay at the meter instead)
  • Hospital Hill Apartments parking garage (unless you have special permission)
  • Colonial Shops or Oak Place retail areas
  • Spaces reserved for special purposes
  • Accessible spaces (unless you have a state disability plate or placard and appropriate documentation on file)
  • Other University of Missouri campuses (UM-Columbia, UM-St. Louis, Missouri S&T)

Parking violations

How to pay or appeal

  • Visit
  • Pay or appeal within two weeks of the issue date
  • Tickets appear online the day after issue

Penalties

  • $5 late fee if not paid or appealed within two weeks
  • After two weeks, violations are referred to the 海角论坛 Cashiers Office and applied to your employee ID account
  • Unpaid balances can result in enrollment holds, transcript holds and suspended charging privileges
  • Additional monthly charges: 1% finance charge plus $25 late fee

Serious violations

Parking with a revoked permit results in a $65 violation plus possible immobilization or towing.

How to cancel your permit

Email the Parking Operations Office to stop your payroll deduction.

If you leave 海角论坛

You must request cancellation. If you do not cancel and your payroll deduction stops, your permit will be revoked. Any vehicle displaying a revoked permit is subject to a $65 violation, immobilization or towing.

Additional information

Renewing your permit

  • Payroll deduction permits: Continue automatically until you cancel
  • Pre-paid permits: You must renew online or at the Parking Operations Office

If you're also a student

Benefit-eligible employees cannot purchase student parking permits, even if enrolled full-time.

University-owned vehicles

All parking rules apply to university vehicles. Operators are responsible for violations.

Responsibility for violations

You are responsible for all violations on vehicles registered to your permit. This applies even if you do not own the vehicle.
