Accessible Permit

A 海角论坛 accessible parking permit, along with a state-issued disability plate or placard, allows an individual to park their vehicle in a designated accessible parking space in faculty/staff and student permit areas.

A 海角论坛 accessible parking permit by itself allows the user to park in any faculty/staff or student permit parking space on the campus.

Individuals who are displaying only a state-issued disability plate or placard should park in metered areas on the campus and pay the meter.

Designated accessible spaces are indicated on campus maps by the universal blue and white handicapped accessibility logo.

Motorcycle, Moped, Motor-scooter Permit

Valid parking Areas

Motorcycle, moped or motor-scooter permit parking zones are indicated on campus maps by a green circle with a white M.

Motorcycles and motor scooters may not be parked in any bicycle rack, building or entranceway to any building.

Motorized vehicles parked in these areas shall be issued a university violation notification and may be removed from the area.

Cost

  • Applicants applying only for a motorcycle permit will be charged half the current fee for the permit type issued.  This permit type is not offered online, and can only be requested by contacting the Parking Operations Office in person or at parking@umkc.edu.
  • Persons with a regular vehicle permit, may add their motorcycle license plate and vehicle information to their virtual permit as an alternate vehicle at no cost.  Only one vehicle on a virtual permit can be parked on campus at one time.
  • Vehicles without a virtual parking permit must park in, and pay for, metered parking.
  • There are permit and metered spaces on the 海角论坛 campus reserved specifically for the parking of motorcycles, motor scooters and mopeds.
  • Individuals issued student motorcycle permits may park their motorcycle/motorscooter in any non-metered area reserved by appropriate signs for the parking of motorcycles, motor scooters and mopeds, including those areas in faculty/staff permit lots.

 

One-day Permit

Single-day permits are available for purchase by students, employees and visitors by going to our  or visiting the Parking Office.

Internal departments/units wishing to provide a department-paid parking permit for guests, should contact the Parking Operations Office, at parking@umkc.edu, for assistance in getting set up to send virtual guest parking permits.

Cost

$7 per hangtag
$5 per hangtag for bulk purchases of 200 or more, and for virtual guest permits.

Valid Parking Areas

  • Visitor one-day permits are valid in designated permit spaces in any lot on campus and in any metered area.
  • Faculty/Staff one-day permits are valid only in faculty/staff and student permit areas.
  • Student one-day permits are valid only in student permit areas.

Restricted Parking Areas

  • Parking meters for faculty/staff and student one-day permits
  • Accessible spaces (except with an appropriate state disability plate or hangtag)
  • Driveways
  • Authorized Vehicle Only space
  • Any other space designated by signage for special purpose

 

Virtual Parking Permits

When parking with a virtual parking permit, the vehicle must be parked with the license plate facing the drive lane.  The license plate must not be obstructed from view by any items, nor obscured by any covering.
